Featured Pet-Pepper
Pepper is a proud 9 year old rescue Havanese-Poodle mix who always wears his tuxedo. Pepper is a charming gentleman who loves children and food, but not other dogs or gardeners. He is curious about cats, and someday would love to take the school bus to elementary school. Pepper was rescued from the street and had lost 30% of his body weight, was suffering from pneumonia, and had ear and eye infections. After a month in the animal shelter hospital, he stopped biting the shelter workers and was healthy enough to be adopted. Luckily a young boy had finally convinced his mom they needed a dog and she met Pepper at the shelter. He initially was terribly fearful and head shy, but happily has become a confident dog 6 years after his rescue. He takes defending his family seriously in a deep baritone, and has no idea why he doesn’t actually scare anyone weighing in at.. 13 pounds. He is a fantastic lifeguard at the family pool, and a great listener who understands English and some Spanish. Peppers best trick is that he can dance for a treat, and runs surprisingly fast for a short dog while chasing a mini tennis ball.
Pepper is a great example of how wonderful shelter animals can be when given a second chance. If you are thinking about getting a new pet be sure to check your local animal shelters…you just might find your Pepper. 🙂
